Writing Tutoring
Hone your writing skills at the Learning Centers.
Here to Help
The Learning Centers offer no-cost writing tutoring to help improve your skills and your coursework. Both undergraduate and graduate students can access tutoring in a variety of ways: in-person by appointment and drop-in, online by appointment via Zoom, and through asynchronous feedback online.
What to Expect
At your scheduled appointment or drop-in, bring a draft of your paper for a course, a personal statement for graduate or professional school, or simply your ideas. Our tutors provide feedback and suggestions about your writing in the following areas:
- Brainstorming topics
- Developing an argument
- Formulating a thesis
- Organizing ideas
- Planning your writing process
- Structuring paragraphs
- And more
Learning Centers tutors do not provide proofreading or copy editing services.

Submit a draft paper on our Canvas site and a tutor will provide general comments and feedback within 24-48 hours. Tutors will not make corrections to your paper.
