To find in-person and online drop-in group tutoring, join the LC Tutoring community and add your courses. Select a course to find the times when tutoring is offered. To schedule a one-on-one appointment with a peer tutor, join the SASHP Peer Tutoring community and add your courses. After you select a time, your tutor will reach out to confirm the appointment.
How to Use Penji
Get Connected
The Learning Centers use Penji to connect students to our full suite of in-person and online services, including tutoring, academic coaching, writing tutoring, and study groups. Follow the steps below to find and schedule services.
1. Personalize Your Account
Visit Penji online or download the app for iOS or Android, then create your account by logging in with your NetID and password.
Once you activate your account, you will see a list of "communities" that represent the different services available to you. You can join as many communities as you like.
Learning Centers communities for peer tutoring, academic coaching, writing support, and study groups, have "LC" at the beginning of the name. They are free and available to all Rutgers University–New Brunswick students.
2. Join a Community
You will need a tablet or computer, preferably with a microphone and camera, to connect with online services.
To access writing tutoring, join the LC Writing Tutoring community. Choose if you want to schedule an online appointment or attend in-person drop-in writing tutoring, then select what type of assistance you need. Graduate students should select Graduate-Level Writing to view availability for graduate-level writing tutors. Asynchronous feedback is also available.
To find academic coaching, join the LC Academic Coaching community. Choose if you want to schedule a one-on-one appointment with a professional academic coach or attend a drop-in session with a peer coach. You will be able to access the link for your online appointment directly from Penji.
To register for an in-person or online study group, join the LC Study Groups community and add your courses. You must be enrolled in a participating course to claim a spot.
To access music class tutoring for Mason Gross School of the Arts students, join the LC Mason Gross Tutoring community. Select the available appointment and course options to schedule tutoring.
