Graduate Workshop Series-Communicating Your Research Clearly and Effectively (Open to all graduate students)
Effective communication is essential for graduate students who want to share their research with a wide range of audiences, including academic peers, interdisciplinary collaborators, potential employers, and the broader public. In this interactive workshop, Dr. Ramazan Güngör, Assistant Dean at the School of Graduate Studies, and Dr. Wilson Ng, Senior Program Coordinator at Rutgers Learning Centers, will provide practical strategies for communicating complex ideas clearly, confidently, and persuasively.
Drawing on experience with SGS programs such as Research Cafés and Three Minute Thesis, the session will guide participants through approaches for structuring effective presentations, engaging diverse audiences, and navigating common communication challenges. The workshop will also highlight how strong communication skills support career development beyond academia and introduce relevant resources offered by Rutgers Learning Centers.
Participants will leave with concrete strategies for presenting their research more effectively, fostering meaningful scholarly conversations, and strengthening their professional impact across academic and non-academic settings.
